Hotel Seoul

Hotel Seoul is a 4-star property in the heart of Mexico City, in the Colonia Centro of the Venustiano Carranza borough, on Lecumberri street. Its strong suit is the location: Morelos metro station is just a few minutes away on foot, and the historic centre — with the Zócalo and the Templo Mayor — is within an easy stroll.

It's a practical, no-fuss choice for anyone travelling for leisure or business who wants to rely on public transport. The rooms are spacious and functional, with a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a wardrobe and bed linen provided; there are room types for couples and for groups of up to four.

The hotel runs around the clock, with a 24-hour front desk, room service, a lift and free Wi-Fi throughout the building. It also has free private parking — something quite rare and genuinely useful in this part of town. Please note that payment at the property is accepted in cash only.

Plan your stay at Hotel Seoul

A 4-star hotel in the heart of Mexico City, next to Morelos metro and a short walk from the Zócalo.

The hotel's rooms

Hotel Seoul offers two room types built for different needs: a Superior Room with an extra-large bed, ideal for couples or travellers after a bit of space, and a Standard Quadruple Room that works well for families or groups of friends travelling together. Both are roomy and functional, with floor space above the average for the area.

Every room shares the same essentials — a private bathroom with a shower, free toiletries, towels and toilet paper, a flat-screen TV with cable and pay channels, a telephone, a wardrobe, a carpeted floor and bed linen provided — while the differences come down mainly to floor space and capacity. They range from the generous 40 m² of the Superior, with its extra-large double bed, to the two-double-bed layout of the Quadruple, which sleeps up to four guests. In both cases these are simple, well-kept spaces geared towards resting after a day out in the city.

Location and what to see

Hotel Seoul is on Lecumberri street, in the Colonia Centro of the Venustiano Carranza borough, on the eastern edge of Mexico City's historic centre. This is a lively, working-class part of town, well served by public transport: Morelos metro station (Line B) is about 500 metres away and Tepito station just under a kilometre off, so you can cross the city without depending on a car.

On foot, the monumental heart of the capital is a comfortable walk away. The Zócalo — with the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace — and the Templo Mayor lie a little under two kilometres off, and on the way you'll pass the former College of San Ildefonso, one of the great showcases of Mexican muralism. Entry to the Zócalo is free; the Templo Mayor and the National Palace open Tuesday to Sunday, the latter free of charge on presentation of photo ID.

The best times to visit are spring and autumn, with mild weather and clear skies, while summer brings afternoon rain. It's wise to move around by day along the main streets and, after dark, to stick to the busier routes and avoid wandering into side alleys — sound advice for the whole of the centre. One further plus of this hotel: Benito Juárez International Airport is around 6 kilometres away, barely 10 minutes by car.
